Let’s face it – you can’t sail without wind, you can’t bowl without balls, you can’t strut without stuff … you get where I’m going with this. With a few invaluable tips, tools and techniques along with a well-stocked pantry, fridge and freezer, cooking wholesome, mouth-watering food will no longer be on par with splitting the atom. So if you want to hear this on a regular basis – keep reading!
You probably have many of these items in your kitchen right now. This list is my ever-evolving pantry on which I draw daily inspiration! I find particular pleasure in discovering new ingredients as I do easier and faster ways of accomplishing culinary tasks. Waste is a four-letter word in my world, so I get a certain satisfaction from finding some way to use every edible morsel that finds its way into my kitchen.
Below, you will find a comprehensive index arranged according to where the items are typically stored in a kitchen. In addition, I’ve bussed-in loads of help from cooking crusaders to fellow foodies who will inform you, entertain you and (hopefully) inspire you, to get in the kitchen and get oh so very, very busy! And if you think time is the issue – think again!
And for your convenience I’ve put together a basic pantry checklist to use in your own kitchen to help set you up for success. And now that you’re armed and dangerous – go and unleash your culinary magic on those who are the lucky recipients of your new found tricks. And before anything magical can happen in your kitchen – you gotta get it together. Give your kitchen the once over, get organized, get stocked and get going. Here’s some ideas that might help you get there! I’ve also put together a selection of references for you to turn to to help answer those nagging culinary questions – how much? What the heck does that mean? Or the ever-popular, is it done yet? They’re right here, right up front, like your own personal sous chef, it’ll be our little secret. Of course you know what you’re doing!
