After countless times of countless jars and countless spoons – I’ve finally come to my spicy senses! Open 6 bottles once, make a blend, and enjoy the taste of pie whenever the mood strikes! Spice companies got smart, threw a few spices together, slapped on a label – and sat back thinking they found the missing chromosome – “pumpkin pie spice” or “apple pie spice” – secret’s out – spice blends aren’t some mystery concoction bottled by those of higher intelligence. Let’s face it – we’re just as clever as those sequestered until they come up with the secret formula. How clever? Well, shut the kitchen door, open a few bottles and make up your own. It’s your blend, you’re in charge of what’s in it – and when it comes to spice blends – there’s no end in sight! Herbs will have to wait another day …
So consider this the first of many mixes – without even thinking, I can think of dozens of combinations headed for just as many dishes, so stay tuned to take your flavour makers to a whole new hangout – in your kitchen, on flavour street, just as you pull into flavour town! Next mixer coming soon … stay tuned …

1. Start measuring – cinnamon down in a bowl.
2. Followed by ground ginger which really brings that pumpkin apple pie thing to life.
3. Allspice is next.
4. Wouldn’t be the same without cloves.
5. Cardamom is next.
6. Nutmeg is a must – and it’s much cheaper & fresher to grate/grind it yourself.
7. Now all you got to do is bring it together.
8. Just like this.
9. It might be an idea to sift it into a jar for maximum mixing.
10. Keep tapping it through a sieve until the bowl is empty.
11. Nice and all mixed up and I wish you could smell what I’m smelling right now!
12. And a final thought – I filled this little jar so I could sprinkle this on anything – buttery popcorn, pancakes or waffles, oatmeal, ice cream, cereal, fruit, sweet potatoes, pork, chicken … I could go on and on, but I won’t ’cause you could sprinkle this on just about anything!
