Bean Salad/drain beans

If seasoned food writers can rethink canned beans, so can you! Check out the info under well-stocked kitchen for the dried bean approach, but right now I’m pushing the canned variety. Just know going in that the same ideas apply, once you have the cooked legume in hand. Whether out of a can or a pot on your stove, once cooked – a legume, is a legume, is a legume. Purists may disagree, but us commoners would have a hard time telling the difference. Aside from the myriad of ideas here and in the well-stocked kitchen – here’s something a little different to get you going!

And if all you do with canned beans (as they are usually referred to) is add a couple of chopped crunchies and a vinaigrette – you could do a heckuva lot worse than that – as in a mixed bean free-for-all! So for the sake of convenience and ease on both your bottom-lines – canned legumes should be a pantry staple like S&P! It will save you when, well, you need saving – and that happens to me more than I’d care to admit – I’ve been known to turn bean dip into dinner – what?
